A Good Sale
Sandwiched between torrential rains Thursday night (I think we could win the most water held by a canopy without collapsing award) and a 911 call for a medical emergency Saturday afternoon, the 2018 Northern Michigan Relief Sale was a success. Overall the total was up from last year. Preliminary results show $150,000. Several areas were up in significant dollars. Those were Garage Sale, Breakfast, Baked Goods, and Pop. (yes it was really hot) Ten quilts sold for over $1000. The top quilt was $2,300. (even on a hot afternoon) The wooden quilt wall hanging went for $1,700. With the highest bid ever, the North Star shed brought in $1,700. Best of all the My Coins Count donations and Blessing Bids were up from last year. Those two carry no expense and incur no sales tax. 100% of that money goes directly to MCC.
MCC uses the funds raised for work around the world. Many people in great need can be helped through this sale. Thank you to everyone who had a part: set up crew, workers, those who donated things or funds, buyers, campers, take down crew. We really need all of you and are truly grateful for your contributions.
Once again this year the used books will be transported to The Depot in Goshen. There they will either be sold in their shop or recycled for the paper. (good reads and no waste) Garage Sale left overs were also sorted to be taken to charity resale. (we do try to be ecologically responsible)
As our Treasurer said. Year after year I am so impressed how good God is. He has a great sale every time.
Now get ready for next year!
