What’s a Silent Auction?
A silent auction can be lively but not loud. You win the item by writing your proposed bid amount on a paper that goes with the desire of your heart. Of course just like in a regular auction you may have to bid and rebid to be the winner. You just don’t have to declare your bid out loud. Your identity is not known by other bidders because you use your auction bid number to place a bid. Now I’m not saying that no one talks or that you must remain silent. Competition can make this a lively area to visit.
Our Silent Auction is held on Friday, starting in the afternoon and going into the early evening. There are always a variety of things to bid on. New things, gently used things, antiques things, baskets of things, handmade things. You just never know what will be there. You have to check it out!
This year you will most likely find these Thomas Kincaid Santa ornaments and this set of Indian bells. Come on and bid (silent or noisy). It is fun, and the money raised goes to help others through MCC.
