Thankful
Thankful almost seems too mild a word to use, but I don’t really know a better one. We are truly thankful in many ways. Thankful for good weather (even though it was hot.) Thankful for the many people who gave uncounted hours to set up the grounds and buildings for the sale. Thankful for the hours put into manning sales booths. Thankful for the talented hands that made the items for sale from quilts, to woodworking, to art. Thankful for the willing cooks and helpers that helped keep everyone nourished. Thankful for the time spent getting things set to put in the booths. Thankful for the financial minds that take care of our funds. Thankful for organisers. Thankful for advertisers who get the word out. Thankful for those who clean up after the crowds leave. Thankful for those who used their God given talents in so many ways.
We are especially thankful for the buyers. Whether you bought one of the top selling items or only purchased a bottle of water, your help is appreciated. Every cent given to the Penny Power or to pay sales tax assists us in sending more money to help others. Blessing Bids truly give blessings to those in need. Without buyers we would have no sale.
We are thankful on our end. Try to imagine how thankful the recipients of water are to you. They have no way to let us know how they feel. But wouldn’t you be thankful to have clean water closer to you than ten kilometers? We are having economic low times but we are still rich compared to most people in the world. Helping others should make us feel good because it is the right thing to do. It is what Christ would ask of us.
Many thanks to many people and to God for a successful Relief Sale. Come and join with us again next year.
