Detroit Tigers Like Us!
We are again the fortunate recipients of the Detroit Tigers’ generosity. The Tigers have donated several very collectible baseballs from some of their top players over the years. This year we have a baseball signed by JUSTIN VERLANDER, No. 35, Tiger starting pitcher and one the top 5 MLB pitchers of the past 5 years.
Verlander has recorded some lofty achievements since his first full rookie year of 2006. Verlander, along with Don Newcomb, is one of only TWO people to have been awarded Rookie of the Year, Cy Young Award, and Most Valuable Player Award. In 2011, his overall career best year, he won the AL Triple Crown of Pitching (wins, strikeouts, and earned run average), the AL Cy Young Award, and the AL Most Valuable Player Award. The last time an AL starting pitcher won the MVP was 1986, Roger Clemens. In 2012, he just missed a consecutive AL Cy Young Award by 4 points, with 149.
With two career no-hitters (so far), almost 1,600 strike-outs to-date, and consistently leading the major leagues in innings pitched, Justin Verlander will be a strong candidate for first-ballot Hall of Fame selection.
The official MLB hologram on this baseball assures the buyer is the owner of a genuine MLB memorabilia item. Serial No.803972FJ.
