American Girl Dolls

American Girl dolls have been popular for quite a few years. There is an interesting and very informative online Smithsonian Magazine article from June 3, 2021, titled, “The Enduring Nostalgia of American Girl Dolls.” Author, Mulan Solly, shared the history of the creation of the dolls as well as giving much detail about many of the individual ones. Educator and entrepreneur, Pleasant Rowland, was in 1986, searching for “a new doll that would blend education and entertainment.” She couldn’t find one, so she teamed up with Valarie Tripp, who wrote historical fiction and together they created the first three dolls and their stories. The stories shared a slice of American History for children. Kirsten was an early immigrant, Molly came from the WWII time period, and Samantha was from the Edwardian Era. The whole series of dolls and their accompanying books and accessories reflect extensive research. Now there are also girls of today and just like me dolls. If you get a chance look up the article online.
NMRS has been gifted 7 American Girl Dolls to sell in Kids World. These are now in good, played with condition. They came as TLC dolls but have been cleaned, hair combed, and dressed in good used or new clothes. The prices of American Girl Dolls range from about $60-$120 used, with new ones costing even more. This, maybe, has prohibited you from purchasing one in the past but here is your opportunity. We are offering them to you at an affordable, much lower price.
