A Relief Sale Christmas
I know. It’s Christmas. So why am I talking about the Relief Sale? Think about it. What is the purpose of the Northern Michigan Relief Sale? To help those in need, right. What is the message of Christ, the reason for our Christmas celebrations? To help those in need. If we truly follow Jesus, we are concerned about others and want to help those in need. That means physical and spiritual needs. What better season to think about these things and the Relief Sale than Christmas? Help that comes through MCC is help with a spiritual force behind it.
On a lighter side think about your Christmas gift giving this year. How many of your gifts were purchased at the Relief Sale? How many could you get at the sale next year if you planned ahead? In that way you could give a good quality gift and help those who need assistance at the same time. There are many items large and small that could be Christmas gifts. From quilts and wallhangings, quilt supplies, locally handcrafted items, toys from Kid’s World, unique things of all sorts from Ten Thousand Villages, a preserved goodie from the Country Store, a good used book, and any number of interesting possibilities from the Garage Sale. I’m sure you can think of a lot of gifts that someone would love to receive next year.
So keep Christmas in mind when you attend the Northern Michigan Relief Sale next summer.
