A Good Deal on a Good Read

Reading is one of my favorite things to do. I almost always have a book with me. I go through a lot of books a year. So I really love to shop at the Used Books booth at the Northern Michigan Relief Sale. With so many people switching to electronic readers used books may become a thing of the past. I would hate for that to happen. I get pleasure out of the physical sensation of reading a book. The feel and texture of it. Of course the visual of the type. Even the smell of the paper and ink. Altogether it is a satisfying package to me. Those electronic gadgets as fascinating as they are, do not do it for me. I prefer the old fashioned book, no batteries needed.

At the Used Book Sale you would be amazed at what you can find. There will be a book on just about any subject you can think of. I say just about, I know from experience that not every topic will be covered. Besides books there will also be magazines and music. Some of the usual themes are gardening, crafts, self help, history, school texts, novels – old and new, children’s books, Bibles, religion, inspiritational, cooking, nature, travel, biographies. You get the picture. Part of the fun is the hunt for that unexpected good book or the one you’ve been searching for. With so many to choose from it’s a blast! Come and see for yourself.
