Spring Thoughts

Well, it looks like the long cold winter may really be over at last. I have been fooled a couple of times already, but this time I think it is for real. Oh I know we will not be blooming soon. There are still places where the snow is deep. But I can also see bare patches and mud is in the driveway.  The thermometer reads a pleasing 40 degrees this afternoon. The God who ordained the seasons to come in due time has proved faithful once again.

With the moderation in temperature I begin to start thinking about getting back into my sewing room, the coldest room in my house. I have not wanted to work in there this winter. Today however was a different story. It is still cool in there, but the look of spring and the sunshine gave me the desire to take up the work I have put off all winter.  Hopefully you have a better, warmer place to work in the winter. That would be an ideal time to get projects done. You don’t want to be outside anyway.

My real work started today. I had purchased a Color Challenge kit for the first time. I am not a quilter. I do sew, and I like to do creative projects. I had drawn up plans last fall. However, today my plans all changed. That design looked boring. I needed to do something else. A new plan was implemented and I accomplished quite a bit. What a good feeling!

If you are just awakening from a long winter’s gloom, do something to get the creativity flowing. Then use that enthusiasm, that joy to make something ( whatever you specialty is) for the Relief Sale. If you start soon you will still have time to make many items that can be auctioned or sold in the Creative Corner.

Leave that old, dull Mr. Winter behind! Say hello to a new productive Spring!
