Missing Beth

As many of you know, the Northern Michigan Relief Sale lost a devoted worker this spring. Beth Esch, who along with her husband Bill, were in charge of the Relief Sale for many years lost short her battle with leukemia. Her attention to detail and willingness to give her very best to the sale will be greatly missed. Even after she was not part of the leadership of the sale she was still everywhere checking up on those small things that can get forgotten or lost in the bustle of the day.

Her contributions of candy to the Country Baked Goods Booth will certainly be noticed by many. No one could make her signature candies quite the same. I know many tried, but they were never quite as good. 

If you did know Beth by name or looks, I know you heard her voice. For about 30 years she was the reader of quilt information during the quilt auction. Last year she had to step down from that due to health issues. It was a sad moment for many to realize that she was unable to fulfill that role.

Beth was a committed Christian, so we know where she is. We also know her times of suffering are over and she is singing and praising God in His very presence.

We will miss her at the sale, but there will be many memories to call her to our hearts and minds.
