I Challenge You

A challenge has been issued. A few intrepid souls have answered. Here are the terms. You will be given five fat quarters. You must use all five. You may add five additional fabrics. You may make more than one entry. The size is up to you not to exceed 40×40. Please submit it to the Quilt Auction. Deadline July 23 to be included in the booklet. Be ready for the People’s Choice vote. So goes the Wall Hanging Color Challenge.

This is the fifth year for the Color Challenge.  Kits can be purchased at Quilter’s Corner starting Friday evening until gone. Each year the kits are sold out so get yours as early as you can if you have a desire to be challenged. The variety of patterns and techniques used is astounding. When you see the wall hangings displayed together, you can hardly tell they started from the same seeds. Each quilter brings their own design, creativity, and stitching talent to the challenge. The results are amazing.  The photos you see here are from previous challenges. Get a sneak peak at this year’s offerings under the Auction, New for 2012 tab on this website. You can begin to choose your favorite because your vote counts for the People’s Choice. Voting is on Friday August 3 starting at 5:00 PM. The wall hangings will be auctioned off during the Quilt Auction on Saturday. That means you can come and bid on your choice just like a vote.
