Where the Books Are
Reading is a great pastime. I really like to read as do a lot of you who are reading this. One of my biggest pleasures has been helping young children to learn to read and to get non-readers to become readers by finding that book that hooks them.
If you are a reader, you probably already know about the Used Books at the Northern Michigan Relief Sale. That is one of my favorite places to visit on both Friday and Saturday. With hundreds, maybe thousands of choices there is no excuse for not finding a book that suits you. There are books and magazines on many, many topics and reading levels. Children’s books through scholarly tomes are awaiting you.
Thank you everyone who donates books that they are finished with. Thanks also to those who help in that booth and those who help put books on shelves and take them off afterward. Thanks to those who donated the use of a sturdy trailer to transport the books that were left after last year’s sale. We could use a trailer again after the 2018 sale to get those books to the MCC Depot in Goshen. A two axel, enclosed trailer capable of hauling 3-4 thousand pounds to Indiana is needed. The books are sold in their resale shop, donated to Better World Books, or recycled. Last year was the first time we were able to do donate our unsold books. Getting the books to others who can use them is a great idea.
Come find a great book or donate a book that you are ready to let go to another reader.
