Thanks for a Great Sale
It is Monday morning as I write this. There has been time to sit back and think. To rest up from a weekend or more of activity. And to truly be thankful. Our first round of thanks should be to God. The weather he provided was hot but worked out well with no severe happenings of any kind. He sent the people to help in various areas of the Northern Michigan Relief Sale. He provided the buyers with funds to purchase items and foods of all sorts. He gave each person who made things or did jobs the necessary skills for that position. He placed a generous and caring heart in so many people. And now we give the fruits of all that back to Him for His use in the kingdom through MCC.
The highlight of the Sale had to be the $17,000 quilt. A record that may never be broken (but we hope it will). The bidders on that and all the other quilts are greatly appreciated. The Quilt Auction brought in about $67,000. That is up a bit from last year. The General Auction was at about $20,000. That is in the neighborhood of last year. Other sales on the grounds brought in about $67,000. Without adding everything up from last year it must be a similar amount. Donations, always an act of generosity, were about $40,000. The rough total is $195,000 that will be used to relieve suffering of various kinds around the world. The fact is that more money usually comes in after the sale, so that total should rise a bit. Keep in mind that these are not final totals. Though it is encouraging to hear the preliminary results.
If you go to our Facebook page, you have an opportunity to give us feedback. Your thoughts on the Northern Michigan Relief Sale are helpful in our planning for next year.
Thanks again to God above all and to everyone who had any part in the Sale. See you next year at the fairgrounds the first weekend in August.
