Cider Press for Auction
Imagine a crisp, cool, sunny autumn day. A perfect day for apple cider. But where can you get fresh squeezed cider? You don’t want to travel miles for that pleasure. We have a solution. Make your own fresh squeezed apple cider. You can do it!
A locally handcrafted hydraulic cider press will be on the General Auction this August. The craftsman is an experienced cider press maker. Each one he makes is a little different because there are always improvements and innovations. All finishes are food grade. The apples are ground and pressed on this one machine. The press is hydraulic, so the hard part is done for you. The grinder is electric (another labor saver). The wheels make it very easy to move around. It also features a sign that says it is from the Northern Michigan Relief Sale. This was made by another local craftsman.

If you are the winning bidder, you can have tons of fun and make new friends by inviting people to join you in the adventure of apple cider. That is how this project came about. Someone came to make cider and thought “Wouldn’t that be great for the Relief Sale”. You too can pass on that wonderful fall tradition to others.
It is really beautiful and impressive even if you don’t feel like cider right now.
The cider press can be seen locally at the Pioneer Store located between Mio and Fairview.
Remember to come to the 2024 Northern Michigan Relief Sale and help us help those in need around the world. See you August 2 & 3.
